Lagertha is a recurring character and an antagonist in the third season of Vampire Bloodlines. She was an ancient vampire and head of Ragnar's Bloodline.
Early History[]
At some point in history, Lagertha was turned by Ragnar and was invited to join his sireline. Over the years, the two grew fond of each other and eventually became lovers. However, Mikael along with a small army of his own, descended upon them. They slaughtered many of the Sireline and destroyed all of what Ragnar built until none remained.
By then, Ragnar decided to retreat to safety, but Lagertha was no coward and chose to stay, forcing them both to separate. Lagertha was eventually found by Malcolm, who she started to view as a savior. Together, with Malcolm's guidance, they made the Bloodline Council to what they are today. After some time, she is trained in many forms of combat, transforming herself into a fierce combatant. She ultimately became the head of Ragnar's Bloodline.
Personality[]
Lagertha was a mysterious, yet tough woman. She had a no-nonsense attitude and was loyal to her organization. Lagertha also displayed a cunning sense of game and as well as displaying physical technique. Lagertha was ruthless and pragmatic in nature, she also didn't tolerate betrayal, and disloyalty.
Physical Appearance[]
Physically, Lagertha is a very beautiful and attractive young woman with an oval face, light olive complexion, almond-shaped brown eyes which are sometimes described as doe-eyes, and long dark brown hair. Her height is 5'3"(1.63m), and she has a slim, slightly athletic physique.
Personality[]
Lagertha remains loyal towards humans, despite her blood lust. After murdering her first human, Lagertha felt extremely guilty over her actions. Ragnar teaches her to adjust to her new life as a vampire and she is now able to feed without severely harming or killing someone. Lagertha is the vampire with the fewest attacks on humans in the series, and always has great control with her bloodlust and has been rated as the best vampire among them.
At first, Lagertha was very cautious and careful about drinking from humans. She was more concerned about hiding the evidence to avoid risk of getting caught. This made her unique; she had the ability to control her bloodlust. For example, she was able to stop drinking from Adam before it killed him, because she didn't want to have to come up with a plan to cover his death up. However, after getting Richard to turn his humanity off as well, he convinced her to let go, which made her much more reckless. She carelessly killed a man in a bar by mind compulsion, and also assisted Richard in feeding off of an innocent college girl.

Power and Abilities[]
The supernatural forces that sustain vampires also endow them with superhuman physical abilities as well as powers of mind control. Their physical abilities such as strength, speed, agility, durability, healing and senses all grow stronger with age and experience. Vampires who feed on animal blood will not be as powerful as those who feed on human blood. Human blood is also known to increase the speed of healing when ingested by a vampire after being seriously wounded.

Weaknesses[]
If vampires are killed by a wooden object stabbed through their heart, their body desiccates into a gray color, and their vampiric veins thicken and protrude from their skin. Vampires can build up tolerances to some weaknesses, such as vervain, allowing them to protect themselves from compulsion by an Original and to help lessen the likelihood that it will seriously incapacitate them when used by enemies. However, it will still burn them upon contact, but if ingested, it will not weaken them as much if they take small amounts over time to increase their immunity.
