House of M (stylized/abbreviated HOM) is a spin-off of the Originals TV series picked up at the end of the events of the season one finale by Tyler Gracyne and turned into a series of its own and is directly linked to Something Witchy Comes This Way, from which Rebekah's life before travelling to NOLA is to be chronicled.

This series (unlike the original show) will follow Rebekah Mikaelson as she returns to New Orleans to see how her brothers have fared after Niklaus calls her giving her startling news: he has a child. Upon arrival, Rebekah learns that her brothers had been caught up in war between witches and vampires and, more recently, werewolves. Davina Claire, a teenage witch, possesses the powers of herself and three others and they eventually learn that she has used her power to resurrect the Original Hunter, Mikael – their father, forcing Rebekah to intervene in attempts to save her family from his wrath, but things are further complicated as the werewolf mob come to town and the resurrection of their long dead brothers Kol and Finn, returned to their witchcraftic nature accompanied by Sage, and not pleased with the way Niklaus and Elijah have treated them for the last thousand years, they bring an ominous message from the leader of all New Orleans Witches.

Production[]

This fanon series was started after Tyler Gracyne decided to start writing a fanfiction based on the Originals just as he had with Witchy Comes This Way#Episodes Something Witchy Comes This Way. But he struggled on where to begin the story as there was a lot he planned to do differently from the Originals TV show. For a year, he dragged out the planning, pondering everything from a title, and to how he’d pull off removing Rebekah from the Originals until finally, he figured it out: Rebekah would be a main character on the first season of Witchy Comes This Way#Episodes SWCTW, refusing to go to New Orleans no matter what Elijah called to update her on due to her relationship with Matt, thereby cutting off her part of the Originals storyline out until she finds out that not does Klaus have a child, but she has been born through a call with Elijah around the time of ‘‘From A Cradle To A Grave’’ at the finale of SWCTW. But these plans were still dragged out after Tyler Gracyne pondered a new, suitable title. Something Wampitch This Way Comes was good as it would less ensure the survival of the Originals because the title meant "Werewolves-Vampires-Witches". The show starts after Rebekah Mikaelson gets a call from New Orleans in the finale of Witchy Comes This Way#Episodes Something Witchy Comes This Way (in which she was a main character) from her brothers, Tyler Gracyne decided to make an almost completely new storyline of what conspired in New Orleans in the meantime. In this reality (which is fazed due to Elena, Silas, Amara, Katherine and Stefan’s interference with the Crystals of Bezel) many things that happened in the TV show are changed and explained to the reader when most of them are explained to Rebekah in the premier. A summery of the plot of season one has been written (see Plot of Unwritten Timeline).

Differences between this universe and the original[]

Unlike the original: Davina begins hiding out with Marcel, but is able to go to school due to being hidden under a cloaking spell from the eyes of any witch placed on her by Lenore, thus allowing her to have a normal life with Tim, her slow-developing boyfriend, Josh (her new best male friend) and Tina (her best female friend), who are both human for a majority of the time before Rebekah’s coming, thus giving Davina better morale than her original counterpart (the three of them end up dead, Tim irreversibly so, but Tina and Josh are turned into vampires by Klaus, who had abducted the three of them in hopes of forcing Davina to join him, when she defied him, he killed them and left Tim to die as a reminder to Davina of how expendable her relationships with humans are and that he controls her life). This has the effect of rendering Davina’s powers uncontrollable, making her accidentally break the veil that kept her hidden from witches, thereby she was found by a group of witches whom she accidentally killed in her fear of death. Klaus often compels Camille and uses her connection to Davina to propel his mission to defeat Marcel. He later has Esther buried in New Orleans and consecrated by a priest to imbue Sophie with the status of an elder, albeit temporary, to complete the Harvest.

Kieran O'Connell dies the same way with the exception that the witch who hexes him is Monique Deveraux in retaliation for his action to stand against the witches for hexing his nephew.

After she nearly killed Marcel and a newly vampiric Josh and Tina (who survive and join Marcel’s army but do not participate in the ‘‘From A Cradle To A Grave’’ finale fight against the Originals) she realized how out-of-control she was and gave herself up to Sophie Deveraux and was sacrificed with hope that she’ll return. Bastianna and Geneviève are not resurrected by Celeste Dubois and she keeps the power for herself before she is killed by her ancestors, who are convinced by Sophie and Klaus to complete the Harvest and resurrect all the Harvest Witches instead, but Celeste’s spirit possesses Hayley, and uses her in her scheme against Elijah until an unknown force eventually pulls Celeste from Hayley’s body leaving her fate unknown (to be addressed in House of M), but after she disappears, all four Harvest Girls come back at once and are happily reunited. Sophie is not killed, but hexed by three Harvest Witches, Monique Deveraux Cassie St. Lucia and Abigail Saint Germaine (whom they call Abby), who put her in a permanent coma as punishment for helping vampires and defying the goal of their ancestors. Geneviève is resurrected by the Ancestors to guide the Harvest Girls and protect them from the Mikaelsons, who believe controlling the Harvest Witches will help them control all witches (the Harvest Ritual of this storyline is passed on to one of the Nine Covens every cycle of a 100 year period, they take turns rather than it being native to the French Quarter Coven and therefore, they are not only the center of the Quarter Witches, but of all Nine Covens and when the Harvest was postponed, it negatively affected the other Covens).

Geneviève is later instructed to kill Klaus and Hayley’s baby with the Harvest Girls, Davina is present and is not keen but is threatened by her ancestors to do as told, but not before realizing that the Ancestors themselves are scared of something in Purgatory (the Ancestral Plane). Camille’s twin brother, Sean O’Connell does not die in this reality, but ends up in a mental institution after being hexed by Agnes until Davina (channelling the Harvest) heals him of his insanity with magic the same day the other three Harvest Girls and Geneviève plan to execute the baby, Davina insures she is cloaked and busy and steals their hair while they sleep to execute the spell. Klaus’s child gives Hayley the ability to do magic while she’s pregnant, which she often uses when standing against strong foes. Geneviève survives (only because of a protection spell Davina had cast on all Harvest Witches and their mentor) but is shunned and cannot perform magic that involves ancestors and other ancestral witches and Klaus lets her live under this curse of disunity, but only after telling her to leave New Orleans forever and swearing to kill her if she ever defied him again. Diego lives and has a casual sexual relationship with Josh after he turns. Mikael is resurrected by Davina with the power of all the Harvest Witches and Hayley’s baby (whose birth created a living Nexus Vorti). Vincent Griffith is a fallen witch veteran who was murdered by his own wife and is resurrected the night Geneviève fails to kill the baby as a way of replacing her as an elder and mentor to the girls, he is also possessed by the spirit of Finn Mikaelson, the Mikaelsons's eldest brother. Esther Mikaelson remains dead, but is consecrated and is controlling the Ancestors from beyond the grave. Hayley fell in love with Jackson on sight and is not doubtful on whether or not she should be with him due to what is known as an "Alpha-bond", but she is in love Elijah, too. After the child is born, Hayley gives her the primary name of Hope, and Zoe as her second name, but also makes her Andréa, christening her Princess Hope Zoë Andréa Mikaelson-Labonair of the Crescent Werewolves and New Orleans, which also establishes a certain peace with the werewolves.

Similarities[]

Like in the original, Niklaus impregnated Hayley Marshall, the witches took Hayley to use her to get them to complete the Harvest and regain Davina. Marcel subdues Elijah with a silver dagger and keeps his body hidden with Davina. The Harvest has left Davina the last Harvest Girl alive and she possesses the power of the four of them until her eventual, willing death at the hands of Sophie Deveraux. Celeste Dubois takes the Harvest Magic. After Celeste’s “death”, her power is released, resurrecting Monique Deveraux and Abigail Saint Germaine (along with Davina and Cassie St. Lucia. see Dissimilarities). Niklaus has Esther buried in New Orleans and consecrated by a priest to imbue Sophie with the status of an elder, albeit temporary. Niklaus had often threatened the lives of Tim (and Davina’s other human friends (see Dissimilarities) and ends up killing him. Marcel runs the Quarter’s vampires and is Davina’s guardian. Hayley and Jack meet and the Crescent Wolf Pack is under a curse which is undone by advice given by Celeste. Francesca and uses Geneviève to activate the moonlight rings which she uses to take over the Quarter from the vampires, effectively decimating Marcel’s faction. Vincent is possessed by Finn Mikaelson. The witches of the Quarter temporarily do not have an elder until the Harvest is completed. Klaus often compels Camille and uses her connection to Davina to propel his mission to defeat Marcel. Hayley is killed after giving birth to her child. Mikael is resurrected. Kieran O'Connell dies the same way with the exception that the witch who hexes him is Monique Deveraux in retaliation for his actions against the witches.

Dissimilarities[]

Unlike the original: Davina is hiding out with Marcel, but is able to go to school due to being hidden under a cloaking spell from the eyes of any witch placed on her by Lenore, thus allowing her to have a normal life with Tim, her slow-developing boyfriend, Josh (her new best male friend) and Tina (her best female friend), who are both human for a majority of the time before Rebekah’s coming, thus giving Davina better morale than her original counterpart (the three of them end up dead, Tim irreversibly so, but Tina and Josh are turned into vampires by Klaus, who had abducted the three of them in hopes of forcing Davina to join him, when she defied him, he killed them and left Tim to die as a reminder to Davina of how expendable her relationships with humans are that he controls her life). When Davina’s powers grow uncontrollable, she’d accidently broken the Veil that kept her hidden from witches, thereby she was found by a group of witches whom she killed accidently and was then captured by two of her aunts and three of her uncles. They keep her protected from everyone for a time, managing to do so with a great deal of power which is part of the perks of Davina being the only Harvest Witch alive: her family members are still able to do the same level of magic and all but two of her uncles and one of her aunts are in support of her decisions to abandon magic if it means she may not return to life and it is also revealed she has two siblings that were shipped off to boarding school right before the Harvest begun. When Davina’s power begins to unravel the city, it is learned that the Claire Family want her to destroy the city along with every vampire in it once it falls to her fire-based enhanced powers. Niklaus finds her with the help of Marcel and Sophie, who is now able to practise since Davina was captured and kept away from Marcel. At the Claire Mansion where her family are “protecting” her, Elijah and Klaus attack, subduing every one of the witches. Once arriving in Davina’s chamber, she unleashes the power’s she’s been holding back for a while and pushes Klaus to the brink of death after banishing Elijah’s soul to limbo and throwing Marcel in a pool she turns to boiling blood with enhanced molecular control. Drunk on power, she nearly killed Tina and Josh (who survive and join Marcel’s army but do not participate in the From a Cradle to a Grave finale fight against the Originals). Realizing her flaw, Davina decides she is out of control and undoes the debris and voluntarily gives herself up to Sophie and was sacrificed just as her elementals begun to overrun the crescent city. Bastianna and Geneviève are not resurrected by Celeste and she keeps the power for herself before she is killed by her ancestors, who are convinced by Sophie and Klaus to complete the Harvest and resurrect all the Harvest Witches, but Celeste’s spirit possesses Hayley, and uses her until an unknown force eventually pulls Celeste from Hayley’s body leaving her fate unknown, but after she disappears, all four Harvest Girls come back at once and are happy to be reunited. Sophie is not killed, but hexed by Monique and Abigail (whom they call Abby), who put her in a permanent coma that allows her spirit to astral project as punishment for helping vampires and defying the goal of their ancestors. Geneviève is resurrected by the Ancestors to guide the Harvest Girls and protect them from the Mikaelsons, she is also a part of the Claire Family and Davina’s several years great aunt and joins and usually agrees with Davina’s aunts and uncles. She is later instructed to kill Klaus and Hayley’s baby with the Harvest Girls, but fails and is shunned by her ancestors. Camille’s twin brother, Sean O’Connell does not die, but ends up in a mental institution until Davina, Cassie and Abigail heal him of his insanity in the finale. Klaus’s child gives Hayley the ability to do magic while she’s pregnant. Geneviève survives but is shunned and cannot perform magic that involves ancestors. Diego lives and has casual sexual relations with Josh. Mikael is resurrected by Davina with the power of the Harvest. Hayley gives her child the primary name of HDiego ope, and Zoe as her second name, but also makes her Andréa, christening her Princess Hope Zoë Andréa Mikaelson-Labonair.

Prelude[]

The “Prelude” is a summary of the events that took place before House of M in the City of New Orleans and is divided into four parts: the introducing act (which gives a detailed prelude to the events that lead to the rest of the acts/chapters), the Harvest Chapter, the Crescent Chapter and finally, the Rise and Fall of the Factions.
  • Author’s Note: If you aren’t interested in reading the parts that are the same as the original, I suggest you DON’T read the “introducing act” as it is pretty much “Always and Forever”, but everything else is mostly changed, so if you’re interested in my events of the story, please read the rest of the chapters.

After Katherine Pierce gets rid of the Originals’ presence in Mystic Falls forever, Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and his brother Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies) decide to stay in New Orleans and raise Klaus’s child together, building a strong empire for its birth and protection. The only problem is that the witches of a New Orleans Coven — the French Quarter Coven — have linked the mother of the baby, Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin), to the witch Sophie Deveraux (Daniella Pineda), in hopes of blackmailing the Original brothers into helping them with their “vampire” problem: an evil tyrant named Marcel (Nathan Owens) (who was raised in the city by Klaus and Elijah centuries ago and was assumed dead when they left) is now King of the French Quarter and forbids the witches there from doing magic, the punishment for disobeying this being death. Sophie Deveraux’s older sister, Jane-Anne Deveraux (Malaya Rivera Drew), performed a ritual called the Threefold Enchantment: to determine whether Hayley was actually pregnant and linked her to her younger sister Sophie at once. Doing the spell overexerted her abilities and Jane-Anne died before the vampires of Marcel’s Court, her body still in their possession. Sophie offers a deal: she will keep herself alive and not kill herself (which would have the paradox of killing Hayley and the very new baby with her) if the Originals don’t help them. Sophie gives Elijah till midnight to convince Klaus to help them and discloses that she is not afraid of the Originals as she no longer has anything to lose: everyone she cared about are dead.

Klaus finds Marcel partying with his vampire army and, after Marcel arrogantly declares that since the Originals left, he’s managed to alter New Orleans to something they have never done: the blood always pours, he got rid of the werewolves and even managed to shut the witches up and then corrects an earlier made statement Klaus made: And everything you see here, is MINE! My family! My city, my RULES. And if anyone breaks those rules . . . they die. Mercy is for the weak, you taught me that too. I’m not the Prince of the Quarter, “friend”. I’m the King! Respect is mine, I suggest you show me some. in front of his watching army. Klaus then deliberately bites one of Marcel’s vampires, suggesting that he’s broken one of Marcel’s rules and the vampire, Thierry Vanchure (Callard Harris) will be dead by the weekend, but Klaus cannot be killed and is truly immortal and leaves.

Elijah calls Rebekah (who is in Paris) to ask for advice, but does not tell her the truth when he hears how happy she is with Matt in Europe, but Rebekah gives him advice when she tells Elijah that the city is theirs and the only thing stopped them from having it is dead, there’s nothing they can’t have if they want it enough: being with Matt has shown her that she may be undead, but she can still have human emotion.

Elijah finds Marcel and demands he tell him his secret to controlling the witches – a feat not even the Originals had managed when running the city. Marcel replies that that is his own business just as it is all his business. Marcel then rants about how Klaus disrespectfully sentenced one his vampires to death, which Elijah apologizes for and offers to help him with: he’ll give him the one thing that can heal the bite – blood of a hybrid, in exchange for the body of Jane-Anne Deveraux so the witches can bury her and put her to rest. When Marcel asks why he cares about witch business, Elijah tells him that that is his own business and asks if they have a deal.

Klaus finds himself at a bar and one it’s waitresses, Camille (Leah Pipes), who hates her name, asks him what he’ll be having and Klaus smiles at her, telling her that he thinks she’s not from around New Orleans. Camille recognizes him and tells him she’s seen him before and he remarks that she has. She asks him what demons he’s brought with him, and he tells her that family’s more trouble than it’s worth, but Camille refuses, saying that she’s got family in NOLA who are very destructive and hurtful, but at the end of the day, they love her and she loves them, not matter how much pain they’ve caused her, she would fight for them a hundred times over because that’s not what they’ve always been.

Back in the City of the Dead (the cemetery where the witches reside to consult their ancestors and conduct witch business), midnight strikes and Sophie tells her friend Sabine that she will carry out her plans to kill herself only for Elijah to return with Jane-Anne’s body, using it as a barging chip to get more time to convince Klaus. Sophie accepts this deal and the witches consecrate Jane-Anne’s body and the witches have a brief burial ceremony at which Hayley is present to witness how much Sophie actually loved her sister and the pain that the vampires have caused to the witches.

Elijah leaves to find Klaus, and once done, at first, Klaus decides to abandon his child and not let the witches manipulate him in this manner and leaves, only for Elijah to convince him that he can finally have the family he’s always craved: Hayley and the baby can give him that, but if he doesn’t do what the witches want, the baby will die and he will lose it all. Klaus decides (after a touching fight with Elijah in which his older brother beat him the way his father used to) that he does not want to be the father Mikael was to him, but wants to do better. Therefore, the two of them join forces and decide to take Hayley to the house they lived in in the early years of their lives in New Orleans. The next morning, Elijah shows Hayley their family’s history through telepathy and convinces her that the child will be safe and so will she and that even if Niklaus isn’t there, Elijah himself will always be there for them. He meets Klaus in the study, where Klaus decides that if he’s to protect his child and get the city back from Marcel, his loved ones — including Rebekah — can’t be in the line of fire and daggers him, handing his body over to Marcel as a token of his apology and loyalty as well as healing Thierry.

Later that day, in a house in a very big, lovely mansion in the woods, a girl comes home and immediately reveals she is a witch when she turns on the candles in the living room with magic and is startled by the presence of Marcel sitting in the dark with a casket on her coffee table. She demands to know what he’s doing there and why there’s a casket on her table and Marcel tells her that the Originals seem to be here to stay and he needs her to find out how to kill the one in the box, which she seems annoyed by.

ACT I

Davina Claire (Danielle Campbell), the girl whom Marcel gave Elijah’s body, is bored in her house while staring at Elijah’s desiccated body in the coffin. When Marcel enters the room (now the attic of the house), he finds her drawing Elijah’s body rather than doing what he asked and is disappointed. Davina tells him that she doesn’t really see why anyone has to die as Elijah seems very expendable as he is. Marcel replies that what can kill Elijah can kill Klaus in case he’s to be dangerous in the future. Davina suggests Marcel infiltrate Elijah’s mind with his vampire abilities as he must be aware of some sort of weapon, but refuses to have any blood on her hands. She looks at a portrait on the wall she drew of Jane-Anne’s dead body, which Marcel confirms to be the case, much to Davina’s shock and sadness. She tells Marcel that she thought the death-sentence would be just a way to keep the witches in line, not actual reality and feels increasingly guilty for Jane’s death as she was the one who told Marcel the witch did magic, which lead to Marcel brutally killing her.

Marcel calms her and reminds her that they deserved it, Jane-Anne more than anyone. He leaves after telling her that Lenore will be coming by later to make sure no one can find Elijah’s body.

Back in the Mikaelson Mansion, Hayley has noticed Elijah’s disappearance and demands to know from Klaus what happened. When he does not tell her, she journeys to the Quarter, where she stumbles upon a witch that realizes she’s a werewolf and Hayley asks the witch if she has any wolfsbane, which she gives her. Hayley has decided to kill the baby and be rid of the Mikaelsons once and for all. When a vampire, Diego, sees her and the wolfsbane, he rounds up some vampires who rush to kill her, but, oddly, she manages to fight them off with more-than-lycanthropic strength, killing a few and snapping the neck of Diego.

Elsewhere, while in a school cafeteria, Davina is distracted and does not hear what her friends, Josh and Tina McGreevy, are saying and then sees another boy, Tim (Simon Nessman), walk into the room. Tim is one of the school’s heartthrobs whom even Josh is into, but Tim keeps mostly to himself and his art and has only known to talk with Davina. Tim decides to join them for lunch on the day, much to Davina’s joy.

Klaus in the meantime, talks to Sophie Deveraux about finding out the reason why witches cannot do magic, which leads to the witch elder, Agnes, telling Klaus that he will learn in time and that he should rather have Marcel give him the information he wants.

Hayley is chased further into the woods by more vampires, and trips on a root. But before they can kill her, several werewolves rush in and kill them first, saving Hayley and the baby. The werewolves disappear, leaving Hayley to rush further away from the Quarter.

Klaus sees Camille (who insists to be called “Cami”) and rekindles their earlier conversation, asking for her advice: is it wrong to do something for your family, even if it hurts them, to protect them and Cami answers that sometimes tough love is completely necessary, she would know. When pressed on what she means, Camille shrugs it off, saying she just remembers a family member who needed a firm hand. Marcel is spying on them and is interrupted when Thierry pops up. He informs him of a female wolf in the Quarter that was powerful enough to kill a bunch of his men. Troubled, Marcel orders one of his men to keep an eye on Cami: he doesn’t want her hurt, while he also tells Thierry he wants the wolf found and murdered. Klaus overhears the conversation, too, notices him leaving and compels Cami to slowly but surely, like Marcel. He then goes home, where he does not find a missing Hayley and panics as he heard Marcel’s order.

Davina goes home and she decides to open Elijah’s coffin and studies his body before she touches his temples, concentrates and then seemingly enters his mind. Davina finds herself in Elijah’s memories a thousand years ago right after his father had driven a sword into his heart. She wonders nearby to where Finn’s dead body lies bleeding out. Davina asks herself who did this to him, but before Finn can answer, she is pulled away by a newly-vampiric Elijah, who pins her to a tree and demands to know who she is and what she’s doing in his mind, only for Davina to overwhelm him with her magic and pop out of his mind, rising from her body. Gasping, she realizes an African-American woman in the room: Lenore Mona (Sonja Sohn).

Hayley finds herself at the town boarder and as she crosses, she begins to cough uncontrollably, blood flowing out of her eyes, mouth, nose and eyes as she begins to die only for Klaus and Sophie to show up and Sophie’s pulled back into the boarder by Klaus, who is enraged that she would leave town with the baby. Hayley heatedly replies that she was trying get away from the danger that Klaus put her in by impregnating her, excuse her if she wanted to get away from him. Klaus strangles her only to be calmed by Sophie, who reminds him she’s pregnant with his child. Klaus, realizing how wrong it was for both her and the baby, genuinely feels bad, relieved he can hear her heartbeat and the baby’s.

Back in the attic of Davina’s place, Lenore chants a cloaking spell over Elijah’s body as Davina watches. Once done, Lenore asks Davina what’s wrong with her, entering the mind of a Mikaelson is dangerous for her: A. She’s too young to be in a vampire’s mind and B. even if she found the weapon that could kill them, she might take years to process that kind of information as Elijah has lived thousands of people’s lives. Lenore asks Davina if she’ll reconsider letting her teach her to control her powerful magic and Davina refuses, saying she’s under control and barely even once to be a witch, when Lenore presses the issue, Davina’s power flares and the whole building shakes as well as the woods surrounding it.

While Hayley is sleeping, Klaus realizes that Hayley healed much too fast and wonders how she was able to outrun vampires and also that Jane-Anne’s spell was quite clever: she bound Hayley and the child to New Orleans: that was the third part of the Threefold Enchantment. Sophie confirms this and the fact that Hayley’s body is now full of Klaus’s child’s blood, it healed Hayley, saved her life, but warns him that if Hayley had stayed out of NOLA any longer, she would’ve died and she’s glad he got to see first-hand that the witches weren’t bluffing.

The same night, Hayley finds Klaus in the study and tells him that she’s sorry about trying to run off with the baby, and confesses that she did want to kill the baby to be rid of him, but she realized that Klaus gave her a gift, something she’s wanted for a long time: family. This makes Klaus confess about Elijah and why he did it: to protect him. Hayley asks where his body is and he reveals he does not know, but once the city is his, he will. Klaus warns her not to leave the house or else she’ll be killed as one of Marcel’s men know about her face: Diego.

ACT II

A couple of days later, Davina and Marcel talk about how the witches and Klaus have been following suit, but there's a werewolf in town capable of killing a group vampires on her own, so asks Davina if she can find her. Davina refuses, saying she just wants to be normal. She asks if she can go to the Quarter for a thing that her friends will be attending on the weekend and Marcel refuses, telling it’s not safe.

Klaus seeks out Diego and compels him to forget how the wolf he saw the day before looked.

After getting bored reading Elijah’s diary in which he describes one of the loves of his life: Celeste Hélène-Marie Dubois, a beautiful witch who lived in the French Quarter in the days when they established their stance in New Orleans, Hayley sees a werewolf in the pool area of the mansion and rushes after it, leaving the mansion in the process.

Elsewhere, Davina solely decides that since Marcel tricked her and killed Jane-Anne, she gets to call a couple of friends over to the house to party with her and invites her friends Josh, Tina and Tim over.

Marcel meets with Klaus to discuss the terms of his staying in New Orleans: Klaus can do anything, kill any witch, but humans are off-limits as the rules are you can drink from them, but you have to either turn them or heal and make them forget as a way of maintaining their food, a strategy Klaus loves. He asks Marcel what his secret weapon is once more and Marcel tells him that it is something that is stronger than anything he’s ever or will ever see.

After setting up, she decides to open Elijah’s coffin and studies his body before she touches his temples and re-enters his mind.

Hayley ends up in the Quarter where Tina, who sees she’s unhappy, decides to invite her to a friend’s small get-together. Wanting a distraction, Hayley accepts.

Davina finds herself in the exact same room but watching her own unconscious body laying on the ground next to the coffin. Elijah stands across from her and says, “Hello, Ms. Claire.” before she asks, “how’re you —?” And before she can answer, downstairs Josh arrives and is worried about Davina’s whereabouts as he knows nothing of her true identity. She asks where they are and Elijah says they’ll have time to talk later until Davina wakes up.

Hayley and Tina drive in the same car and Tina asks her if she’s new in town, to which Hayley answers that she was born here, but never knew her parents or any of her family. Tina mysteriously tells her, “Don’t worry, you will, soon.”

Davina rushes downstairs where hears music and sees her friend Tina dancing and Josh keeping Hayley company in the living room. Josh is surprised to see her and asks where she’s been and she lies, telling him that she was lost in a portrait. Davina is glad to see them, but wonders where Tim is and they tell her that he called for a rain check, much to her disappointment. When Hayley shakes Davina’s hand when they greet, Davina is seemingly afraid and pulls her hand away from the wolf’s grasp, much to Josh and Tina’s confusion.

Marcel goes to the Quarter to warn Sophie not to tell Klaus anything about “the Harvest”, only for Sophie to tell him that she has no dealings with the Mikaelsons. Marcel answers that he knows everything that happens in the Quarter and that he knows that Jane-Anne was given to the witches for consecration from the now-dead Elijah Mikaelson, much Sophie’s surprise. He warns her that if she does tell anyone about the Harvest Girls, he will not be pleased, a conversation that Klaus overhears.

Davina and her friends are bored and Hayley says she is intruding and should leave, but Josh and Davina insist she stays and they decide to do a séance for fun. Tina brings an Ouija board and places it on the table. Tina, Josh, Hayley and Davina place their fingers on each side of the board and Josh directs Tina to call on a ghost. Before she can, the front door opens on its own. Josh is excited and asks if the ghost has just entered and the house or if it was here all along. The arrow at the center of the board shifts to the letters "N-O.” Davina is shocked it worked and Tina is frightened, telling them she has a bad feeling. Davina asks if any of them know the ghost. Answer: Y-E-S. When Davina asks who the ghost is, Josh reminds her that the next person has to ask and so, Hayley repeats her question, the arrow moves to H-A- before the windows explode and they decide to stop it. Josh is the only one not frightened and continues to ask what its name is, the ghost starts with E and then L and then I, seeing Elijah’s desiccated apparition near the table, Tina shouts, “shut it down!”. Davina, too, sees Elijah and hurries to ignite the board into flames with a word “ignis!” which Hayley overhears with new, much enhanced hearing. Tina asks if anyone else saw the “ghost” and everyone denies it, including a lying Davina. After this incident, Tina and Josh decide to head home as it is late and Hayley offers to stay behind and help clean up. Once alone, Hayley asks Davina if she is a witch and Davina accepts this. Hayley says she thought witches couldn’t do magic in New Orleans and Davina says it’s true, they can’t, because otherwise, Marcel will kill them. Davina asks her what she is and Hayley tells her. After Hayley asks why she risked doing magic Davina begs her not to say anything to anyone about her because “they would come for me”.

Later, Hayley comes home, only to find out that Klaus has been waiting for her and after argument in which she demands to know what he did with Elijah, and Klaus tells her that he was a liability, but he will not have her and the baby in the line of fire and asks where she was and she lies saying that she was digging up information on her parents. He tells her that he’s been doing digging of his own and he’s heard the whispers of the Harvest and he tells her to invite Sophie over tomorrow.

Back in the attic, Davina is alone with Elijah’s body and completes his portrait and then pulls out the dagger in his chest and sticks it back in. Marcel enters the room and asks who she was with and Davina lies, telling him no one.

Hayley is caught reading up on Klaus and Elijah’s history with Marcel in Elijah’s journals, in which she learns that Marcel was actually the descendant of African slaves and his own mother was one. His conception by a European (or White man) was forbidden and he was shunned, keeping him a slave who was tortured by his European masters. Klaus, taking pity on him and seeing him as a kindred soul, freed him by killing his task master and raised him alongside Rebekah, Elijah and Kol. Rebekah became his secret lover once he was old enough, until Klaus forced him to choose between Rebekah and immortality, choosing the latter, Klaus daggered Rebekah and put her to rest for 52 years, which fragmented Klaus’s relationship with Rebekah and with Elijah.

Camille is at a meeting with her uncle, Kieran, who is happy to see her. They have a casual conversation until she asks, “how is he?” and he says that “he” would be much better if she went to see him.

That night, while Davina draws, she turns to see Elijah standing behind her. She is at first startled and when Elijah takes a step toward her, the mirror shatters. Elijah grins, telling her that he won’t harm her. She eyes the coffin and realizes he’s really awoken.

Cami and Kieran enter the Fleur-de-Lis Sanatorium and asks to see a Sean O’Connell, who is in one of their rooms. They find the room, in which a blond boy lays on a bed with his eyes to the roof, his body pinned with a straitjacket. When he sees Cami, he smiles and says, “C-C-Cam-y? Are you really here?” when Cami goes to hug him to confirm her presence, Sean closes his eyes happily welcoming her back before saying, “now I can take you to hell!” and bites into her shoulder hard enough to draw blood. Kieran calls the doctors, who subdue a fitting Sean and he leaves with a terrified Cami.

A day later, Sophie and her friend Sabine have come to where Klaus and Hayley live and Klaus demands to know what the Harvest is. The two witches are surprised he’s even heard that word and Klaus admits to spying on Sophie and overhearing her conversation with Marcel. Sophie refuses to say anything of the matter and that it is “witch business”. Klaus, losing his temper, tells her that he can’t help them if he doesn’t know what Marcel’s secret weapon is and if he doesn’t learn the secret of why the vampires know when witches are doing magic. Sabine and Sophie are adamant. Hayley, who was quiet the entire time, asks “who’s Davina”. Fear immediately encases their gazes. Even Klaus is surprised at Hayley’s sudden voice. Sophie asks where she’s seen Davina, and Hayley presses her to answer the question. Defeated, Sophie and Sabine explain the Harvest: a ritual the Nine Covens of NOLA do every three centuries to renew the Ancestral Power of New Orleans Witches. Sophie had always found the Harvest to be a myth, but found that it wasn’t. Eight months prior, Sophie learned from her sister that the community was rather moving forward with the ritual. When Klaus asks why he’d never heard of it, she admits because it always seemed like a myth. They are interrupted by Marcel, who calls Niklaus to get his help: he’s meeting an informant werewolf who may know who the person who killed Diego’s group is.

In Davina’s mansion, Elijah is given blood by a curious Davina. When Elijah asks her why she is fraternizing with a vampire and standing against her family, the witches, she tells Elijah that 8 months ago, the Elders of her coven gathered girls with potential for great power and prepared them, claiming that their participation in “the Harvest” would bring prosperity to their families. She was among them, but she learned that all they actually wanted was more power. [c.f. Sinners and Saints#Plot for the story of the Harvest].
